Breaking News: Denver Broncos Bolster Coaching Roster with New Signed Experts

The Denver Broncos have formally announced the addition of Pete Carmichael and Jim Leonhard to their coaching roster.

Broncos name Pete Carmichael as Senior Offensive Assistant, Jim Leonhard as Defensive Pass Game Coordinator/Defensive Backs

Carmichael assumes the role of Senior Offensive Assistant, while Leonhard takes on the position of Defensive Pass Game Coordinator/Defensive Backs coach. Carmichael, previously with the Saints, notably served as Sean Payton’s offensive coordinator for 12 seasons before joining the Broncos. Last season, under Carmichael’s guidance, the Saints ranked 9th in scoring offense, 14th in total offense, 11th in passing yards, 21st in rushing offense, 15th in 3rd down efficiency, and 18th in red zone efficiency.

Jim Leonhard, a former NFL player, brings a wealth of experience to the Broncos coaching staff. He played for multiple teams during his NFL career and transitioned to coaching after retiring in 2014. Leonhard served as a defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator at Wisconsin before his recent role as a Senior football analyst for Illinois. Now, he steps into the NFL coaching realm as the Defensive Pass Game Coordinator/Defensive Backs coach for the Broncos.

These additions follow the departure of Christian Parker, who joined Vic Fangio’s coaching staff with the Philadelphia Eagles. With Carmichael and Leonhard now on board, the Broncos are poised for a solid coaching lineup. The only remaining vacancy is for the defensive line coach position, which became vacant after Marcus Dixon left for the Minnesota Vikings. An announcement regarding Dixon’s replacement is expected in the coming days or weeks.
