Houston emerged as a surprise success story last season, boasting a 10-7 record, clinching the AFC South title, and securing a playoff victory. Under rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans, the Texans maximized the potential of their young roster, prompting expectations of further progress in the upcoming 2024 season.

The Texans have aggressively bolstered their roster through free agency, a strategy that Long approves of.

According to Long, “The Houston Texans have excelled in the offseason. They’ve made upgrades across the board. Joe Mixon brings a valuable skillset as a running back, while Danielle Hunter is a standout talent. Additionally, the addition of Denico Autry, one of my personal favorites, adds depth to their roster.”

Long highlights the team’s enhanced speed and athleticism, emphasizing that the Texans are poised to challenge established contenders in the AFC.

He asserts, “When evaluating the AFC landscape and identifying teams capable of challenging the likes of Kansas City, the Texans are at the forefront of my mind. Houston is well-positioned to go head-to-head with Kansas City.”

Long anticipates that Houston will target a wide receiver in the draft to further bolster their offensive arsenal. He believes that acquiring one more impactful weapon would elevate the Texans’ offense to among the league’s best.
