Breaking News: Cleveland Browns Just Confirmed the Best Signing to Strengthen their Roaster

The Browns are applying the lessons they learned from last season’s quarterback challenges.

On Sunday, Cleveland reached an agreement on a one-year deal with former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley, bolstering their depth and support behind Deshaun Watson.

Huntley will join the Browns on a contract at the veteran’s minimum salary. Last season, the team navigated through various quarterback changes when Watson sustained a shoulder injury, ultimately requiring surgery after just six starts. During this period, Cleveland utilized P.J. Walker, rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and Joe Flacco, who arrived as a free agent in November and played a key role in securing a playoff berth.

Recently, the Browns also secured Jameis Winston, the top overall pick in the 2015 draft, to serve as a backup for Watson. Meanwhile, Flacco remains without a team.

With Winston, Thompson-Robinson, and now Huntley in the mix behind Watson, the Browns are fortifying their quarterback lineup. Since signing a substantial contract with Cleveland in 2022, Watson has made only 12 starts due to injuries. Huntley, aged 26, has served as Lamar Jackson’s primary backup for the past three seasons, compiling a 3-7 record in 10 starts for the Ravens. Notably, he started a playoff game during the 2022 season but faced adversity, losing after a crucial fumble near the goal line led to a game-winning touchdown return by Cincinnati’s Sam Hubbard.

In his 20 regular-season appearances, Huntley has thrown for 1,957 yards, tallying eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
