Holiday informed Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe that he is dealing with “dead arm” symptoms.
“I’m definitely sensing something,” Holiday conveyed to Himmelsbach.
According to HealthLine, Dead arm syndrome, often observed in baseball pitchers, can result from repetitive throwing actions. This condition manifests through symptoms like arm fatigue, difficulty generating force while throwing, and numbness.
Holiday sustained his shoulder sprain during a game against the Washington Wizards last Sunday. A Wizards player set a screen on Holiday’s right side, causing evident discomfort to the Boston starter. He immediately grabbed his shoulder and lowered his head for a brief moment before returning to the game.
This is the sequence from last Sunday’s game against the Washington Wizards where the incident occurred in the third quarter. Despite the discomfort, Holiday remained in the game for an additional six minutes following this play.
According to Himmelsbach, Holiday, aged 33, mentioned that the team’s medical staff is overseeing his treatment as he recuperates. Nonetheless, Holiday’s primary focus for recovery is on resting.
