TE Darren Waller (hamstring) questionable to make Giants debut vs. Cowboys

“Earlier in March, Waller shared insights into his contemplation of retirement, indicating that he would reach a decision shortly.”

“At present, Waller expressed uncertainty regarding his decision, explaining to The Athletic that he is grappling with the commitment involved in embarking on another football season. He emphasized the demanding nature of the journey, highlighting the necessity of wholehearted dedication to every aspect of the process. Waller reflected on the potential ramifications of not being fully invested, suggesting that it could negatively impact his teammates. These considerations weigh heavily on his mind as he deliberates his next move.”

According to SNY’s Connor Hughes earlier in the offseason, reports indicated that the Giants intended to retain Waller rather than parting ways with him.

Waller encountered a season plagued by injuries during his debut year with the Giants in 2023-24, as hamstring problems restricted his participation to only 12 games.

Despite his limited playing time due to injuries, Waller demonstrated productivity whenever he was on the field, amassing 52 receptions for 552 yards. However, he only managed to score one touchdown throughout the season.
